BMW battery plant nears completion in Upstate SC
BMW's Woodruff battery assembly plant has hired and is training 300+ workers ahead of a planned December 2026 production start.
The SC Daily Gazette reports on BMW's 1-million-square-foot battery assembly plant on about 314 acres in Woodruff, part of a $1.7 billion investment tied to the company's South Carolina EV plans.
The plant will assemble high-voltage battery packs for vehicles built at BMW's Greer plant, with production planned to begin in December 2026.
